Get involved

Become part of the Sakhisizwe network.

Whether you are a resident, a volunteer, an organisation already active in a community, or a company wanting to start work somewhere new, there is a way in. Here is what that actually looks like.

How would you like to get involved?

  • Volunteer

Become a community champion. Help with door to door listening, dialogue circles, and community engagement. No qualification is required. What matters is that people in your community already trust you.

  • Partner with us

If your organisation already works in a community we are active in, schools, faith groups, local businesses, we would rather work alongside you than duplicate what you do. Get in touch.

  • Want to work in a specific community?

If you are a company, funder or organisation that wants to do work in a particular area, come talk to us first. We have data from our own listening process and trusted contacts on the ground, and we can connect you with the community. Starting from what a community has already told us beats starting from nothing.

  • Support

Support at grassroots level goes a long way, because it goes straight into work on the ground. Funding is what lets us do this properly, in Kayamandi, in Alexandra, and wherever we go next. You can give securely online below.

Talk to us about your area

If you are a resident, an organisation or a local leader who wants to talk to us, about what the issues actually are and what solutions you think could work, email us and we will get back to you.

Tell us where you are, what the issues are and what you think would help. You do not have to give your name.

Supporting as an organisation?

Company giving, sponsorship and longer-term partnership are handled by a person, not a form. Email us and we will send you what your board needs to see.
